Bespoke Design & Manufacturing Services

Robert Mackie of Scotland Knitted Accessories Thread Store

CUSTOMER OWN DESIGN

Our bespoke design and manufacturing service is second to none when it comes to supporting brands in the development and production of unique knitted accessories for their consumers to wear and enjoy,

With our skilled and experienced Design and Technical teams supporting and guiding our customers through every stage of the process, from an initial idea right through to the finished product, we can take your designs and make them a reality, whilst making the entire process as easy and painless as possible.

Sustainability is key and we are focused on reducing our impact on the environment. We only work with natural yarns, a sustainable & renewable product, and continual innovations in our manufacturing process are helping us take steps towards achieving zero waste during production.

With machines including circular knitting machines, glove machines and Vee Bed knitting machines we can offer gauges from 1.5 to 12 and can produce products in jacquard, stitch interest, plain and combinations of these. We also have the capability to offer both shaped or seamless hats, scarves and gloves finished entirely on the machine.

We’re proud to be a Woolmark licensee and an affiliate of UK Fashion & Textile Association and Textiles Scotland. We are members of SEDEX with a SMETA audit, and we comply with the Ethical Trade Institute base code.

YARNS & PROCESSES

Proud to work only in natural yarns, we source as sustainably as possible from the finest grade raw materials, wet finished with care for the softest feel.

Our core yarn is 2/17s 100% lambswool, supplied by Z Hinchliffe, dyed and spun in the UK since 1766, and we stock the full 120 colours on their shade card.

We also work with spinners such as Knoll, Lanecardte, Todd & Duncan, Papi Fabio, Schoeller, Sesia, Shepley & Zegna Baruffa in wools such as Donegal, Geelong, Merino, Supersoft, Shetland, Cashmere and Cashmere blends.

With everything produced completely in-house right from design concept to machine knitting, wet finishing, brushing & textile assembly, our products are truly 100% made in Scotland.
