As of April 2025, we’re now an officially accredited Living Wage Employer

This means every member of our team – whether permanent, temporary, full-time, or part-time — earns a wage that reflects the real cost of living, not just the minimum legal requirement. This step helps ensure that the people behind our products — many of whom have been with us for years — are fairly paid and valued for the skill and dedication they bring to our work. It’s a step that reflects our ongoing commitment to doing the right thing for our people.

Based in Stewarton, East Ayrshire, and established in 1845, Robert Mackie of Scotland began by producing traditional Scottish bonnets. Today, we’re a trusted maker of quality knitted accessories, including hats, scarves, gloves, and bespoke designs – crafted using 100% natural, sustainably sourced yarns and produced here in Scotland.
